COP26 x KHR

SPECIAL ISSUE

COP26 x KHR

Once-in-a-generation phenomena have shaped our global community for centuries; wars, famines, and plagues have formed new pathways of development, often stimulating and provoking human endeavour to make the lives of those around us better.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate catastrophe, the global community currently stands at one of these critical junctures. The pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities and inequities in response to a global health crisis, demonstrating the necessity of stronger co-operation and communication to tackle the climate disaster that increasingly causes destruction and devastation worldwide.

If the time to make change is now, the place to do so is Glasgow. World leaders, climate activists, academics, and more decamp to the Scottish lowlands for the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26). In this issue, the Keppel Health Review will explore and profile the inseparable interactions between health and the climate crisis. Our COP26 special issue provides coverage that challenges the status quo in climate conversations, and in doing so, considers the potential to build a stronger and more equitable global community.
